Fall in love with your ride all over again with the new BMW R 1300 RS. Unveiled on 29 April 2025, this new sports tourer takes BMW’s legendary Boxer engine and infuses it with state-of-the-art electronics and an aggressive new look. It delivers exhilarating performance without sacrificing the comfort you need for long distances.
Underneath its sleek fresh bodywork lies a completely redesigned 1,300cc two-cylinder Boxer engine churning out a remarkable 145hp at 7,750rpm and a hefty 149 Nm of torque at 6,500 rpm. This is the most powerful production Boxer BMW’s ever built, screaming up to 9,000rpm. Three core riding modes, Rain, Road, and Eco, come as standard. You can choose to opt for Riding Modes Pro, with that you unlock Dynamic and Dynamic Pro, plus a handy mode pre-selection, letting you fine-tune your machine on the fly. Add the automated shift assistant for smooth, clutch-free upshifts and downshifts, and rely on the MSR drag-torque control to keep your rear wheel firmly planted.
BMW didn’t stop at just the engine. The chassis has been reworked around a new sheet-metal mainframe and die-cast aluminium rear subframe, centralising the weight balance for razor-sharp agility. Up front, a 47mm upside-down telescopic fork partners with an EVO Paralever rear suspension, helping you carve through corners. For the first time ever, BMW offers Dynamic Suspension Adjustment on a telescopic fork, so you can tweak spring rates mid-ride. And those 17-inch hollow-spoke wheels are over 1.4 kg lighter in unsprung mass, giving you a more responsive feel.
Ergonomics have also been improved. Wider, flatter handlebars and slightly rear-set footpegs lean you into turns while still pampering you on highway stretches. The standard saddle can be swapped for one of five height options, and you can upgrade to comfort handlebars to really dial in your favourite riding position.
Practicality is a necessity of the sports tourer, and hasn’t been overlooked. Electrified 26- + 29-litre side panniers and a 39-litre top case - including interior illumination and USB-C charging - snap on effortlessly. The new tank ring lets a strapless tank bag click into place in seconds. Full LED lighting comes standard, with separate high-beam modules and an optional adaptive Headlight Pro unit that bends with your lean angle.
Choose your palette from Racing Blue metallic, Triple Black (Blackstorm metallic), Lightwhite uni, or the sophisticated Brooklyn Grey metallic (Option 719 Cuyamaca).
