2026 Ducati Monster V2 Unleashed as Fifth Generation Take on Iconic Naked
The fifth generation Ducati Monster has been officially unveiled boasting an all-new V2 engine and major weight-saving gains over its predecessor.
One of Italian firm’s most esteemed model lines, the middleweight Ducati Monster has been a firm fixture of its line-up since 1992.
In that time the Monster has taken on numerous guises with 400cc to 1200cc engine options and different frame designs, becoming a huge hit for the manufacturer among those seeking a more accessible route into Ducati ownership.

While the Monster has certainly evolved in that time, erstwhile generations have always been rooted in the use of Ducati’s desmo valvetrain, even as other models in the firm’s range has shifted towards its newer – and more efficient - V2 and V4 architecture.
For 2026, however, the Ducati Monster joins the V2 ranks for the first time, a new chapter for the naked that brings it into line with other V-twin models in the range, such as the Streetfighter and Panigale.

It’s the most significant change to be found on the latest Monster, the 890cc V2 engine generating 111hp and 91Nm of torque, while it is also slimmer and lighter, savings that contribute to a notable kerbweight reduction of 175kg from 179kg.
Ducati says the aesthetics complement this weight loss, proving more streamlined, sporty and compact with even signature features – such as the bison-back tank – being subtly redesigned to reflect its slimmer, yet muscular profile.
Equipped with a monocoque frame, Showa 43mm upside-down form and monoshocks, and a Brembo braking system, the Monster is described by Ducati as being ‘agile and easy to handle in every situation’. It also comes with four riding modes – Normal, Sport, Road and Urban.
Another notable feature of the new Monster is the V2 engine's IVT timing guarantees 'brilliant performance and record maintenance intervals of 28,000 miles to give added peace of mind.

The 2026 Ducati Monster will be available in two trims – Monster and Monster+ - with the latter flagship model gaining a passenger seat cover and cowl. It has the choice of two colourways, Ducati Red and Iceberg White.
The new Ducati Monster is scheduled to arrive in Ducati Vertu Motorcycles dealerships in February 2026 and will be made available in a 35kW version for A2-licensed motorcyclists.
