Honda Has Revealed Their Three New CB500 Models For Next Year

Honda have unveiled new CB500F, CB500X, and CBR500R models, set to reach European (including UK) markets next year.

All three modernised 500cc bikes will come with new colours, new graphics and an updated engine that complies with the latest and more stringent Euro-5 emission norms.

Honda have confirmed that all three motorcycles are to be powered by the same 471cc parallel-twin that retains its 47 HP power output.

This means they’ll be kinder to the environment, yet still pack a great performance.

The updated motorcycles will produce 40 percent less hydrocarbon emissions in comparison to their Euro 4 predecessors, while carbon monoxide and particulate matter emitted are also less.

Although power produced by the bikes’ unit remains the same at 47 HP at 8600 RPM (to suit A2 license requirements), the peak torque is rated at 43 Nm at 6500 RPM. The engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox with slip and assist clutch as standard.

Since it was only last year that Honda had updated the popular 500cc motorcycles, the 2021 Honda CB500 range does not get any other major mechanical updates. However, new paint schemes have been introduced to keep them fresh.

The 2021 Honda CB500X is set to get three new colour and graphic schemes – Grand Prix Red, Matt Gunpowder Black Metallic, and Pearl Metalloid White. The subframe will be painted red – for a sportier styling - no matter what colour is chosen.

The 2021 CB500F comes with the option of Candy Caribbean Blue Sea, Candy Moon Glow Yellow, Grand Prix Red and Matt Gunpowder Black Metallic paint shades. The colours are paired with all-new graphics on the bike too.

Although no new colour options will be available with the 2021 Honda CBR500R, UK customers will still be offered Matt Axis Grey Metallic, Grand Prix Red, and Pearl Metalloid White shades to choose from.

Despite the demand being there, a Rebel 500 update is missing from the manufacturer’s newly revealed line-up. However, we can expect Honda to confirm a revamp of that too, very soon.

In case you’re not familiar, Honda first introduced the CB500 model range in 2013. It comes with a neatly conventional chassis and powertrain design, sporting the right styling in every variation. The range is also very accessible, thanks to a friendly and easy-to-use engine, plus surprisingly responsive chassis dynamics.

It’s no wonder then that the upcoming range is set to be equally, if not more, popular.

Keep an eye out for more details on the latest Honda CB500 range, coming soon to our Vertu Honda Bikes showrooms.
