Nottingham Honda Bikes Sponsor Ride of Remembrance for Grace
The charity motorcycle ride raised money for Grace O’Malley-Kumar who tragically lost her life in June 2023.
Nottingham Honda Bikes was proud to sponsor a charity motorcycle ride in honour of Grace O’Malley-Kumar. Grace was tragically murdered in June 2023 while trying to save her friend from an attacker in Nottingham.
She had recently completed the first year of a medical degree at the University of Nottingham. As an avid sports fan, she represented England hockey at an under 16 and under 18 level. Grace also played county cricket for Essex.
Earlier this year, UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak supported her family’s campaign for Grace to be awarded a posthumous George Cross award. The award recognises courage in the most terrifying situations.
The Ride of Remembrance for Grace took place on Sunday 19th May 2024, setting off from North Weald Airfield. The ride concluded at Newark Showground and raised money for the Grace O’Malley-Kumar Foundation.
The culmination of the ride at Newark Showground saw a raffle and a live DJ. As well as motorcycles on display.
Grace had a special connection to motorcycles, particularly her beloved Vespa. The ride saw the bike community come together to honour Grace’s legacy. Grace's family were also in attendance at the event to show their appreciation.
