Rory Skinner Leads Ducati BSB Charge, Ben Currie Tops Supersport Table

Ducati remains well in the hunt for the 2025 British Superbike Championship title at the half-way point in the season with two riders positioned inside the overall top five with five events remaining.
Ducati Panigale V4 R riders Rory Skinner and Leon Haslam fly the flag for the Italian manufacturer in the premier domestic superbike racing series, placing fourth and fifth in the provisional standings after six rounds and 17 races.
Following this weekend’s Thruxton BSB event, Skinner on the Cheshire Mouldings TAS Racing-prepared Ducati Panigale V4 R sits 93 points shy of overall championship leader Bradley Ray, while Haslam on the Moto Rapido Racing machine is 97-points adrift.
Despite the margin, the BSB’s unique scoring system ensures Skinner and Haslam remain in closer contention for this year’s title crown than they might appear.
Currently a victory will earn the race winner a maximum of 18 points, with second place achieving 16 points, third place 14 points and so on until 15th position.
However, Rounds 9 and 10 will see victories awarded 25 points, while each of the three races that make up the 11th and final round of the season at Brands Hatch has a potential 35-points up for grabs.
With so many points still on the table, several riders – including Skinner and Haslam – therefore remain a threat in the title race.
Moreover, the duo can count themselves among just six riders to have already tasted the winners’ champagne so far this season. In fact, all three Ducati representatives – including the recent series returnee Scott Redding on the Hager PBM Ducati – have topped the podium in 2025.
Haslam’s victory – his first in BSB since 2018 – occurred at the top of the season at Oulton Park, while Scottish youngster Skinner scored a popular home soil win at Knockhill during Round 4.
Redding, meanwhile, was a sensational winner at Brands Hatch in only his second event back in action following a switch to the series from the WorldSBK Championship.
Ben Currie Takes Control of British Supersport Championship
While Ducati might currently be playing catch-up in BSB, the manufacturer is in control in the supporting British Supersport Championship with its Ducati Panigale V2.
A fifth win of the season at Thruxton for Ben Currie on the Moto Rapido Racing Ducati has seen him assume the overall lead ahead of main rival Rhys Irwin with five rounds and ten races of the season remaining.
Currie is no stranger to success with Ducati in the British Supersport Championship having romped to a dominant title during the Panigale V2’s debut campaign in 2023.
